I am absolutely crazy about all dogs, with a passion for the working breeds, Dobermanns especially.
At the moment I share my home with two of them, Dobermanns of course: Kazan and Delilah.
After my previous female Chula died in oktober 2019 from old age at 13y7mo and-a-bit, I adopted a then five-year-old with a bag full of issues.
We call her Delilah, and she is lovingly guided through life with the aid of BAT (Grisha Stewart's Behaviour Adjustment Training) and my colleague Michaela van Bohemen.
My male dog Kazan van het Wantij who has been with us from the tender age of seven weeks is now retired.
We have gone through FCI-IGP training at Dobermann Kringgroep Etten-Leur and also reached FCI Obedience Level 1 with KC de Hofstad at later age. Nowadays we still enjoy a bit of tracking.
I trained as a Dog School Instructor with O&O, (the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Instructeurs in Hondenopvoeding en -opleiding) and I am still a member to date. The training is comparable to the CPDT in the US or ABTC in the UK. Knowledge assessed by the Dutch Kennel Club through complementary regular courses.
Never stop learning. Besides being a dogtrainer an Certified Pet Dog Instructor I also see myself as a student, the scientifical developments in the canine world are ongoing, there's still lots to discover!
My teaching style is quite direct and hands-on, but never too serious.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you and your dog and aiding you in bettering your knowledge and skills.
I advocate for a good, stable and trustfull relationship between humans and dogs.
Once you have established that, nothing is impossibe!
